David Stephenson

Senior Loan Officer/Owner

David's family moved to Loveland, Colorado in 1973 when David was 3 years old. He graduated from Portland State University, and shortly thereafter he moved to reunite with his family. After working in the mortgage industry for the past 8 years, David and his wife pursued their goal and opened Northern Colorado Mortgage Company (NCMC). David and his wife currently reside in Loveland with their little boy Trent.

Mike Portelance

Senior Loan Officer/Owner

Mike has been in the mortgage business for five years and he takes great pride in finding his borrowers the perfect loan to meet their needs. He has been married for almost 30 years and has two children. Mike enjoys many outdoor activities along with basketball.

Barry Bessert

Senior Loan Officer/Owner

Barry graduated in 1975 from Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois with a bachelor degree in Business Administration. From 1975 to 1995, he worked in various capacities in the transportation industry. He was Vice President of Operations for a local Fort Collins manufacturing firm between 1995 and 2000. Barry has been involved in the mortgage lending business since 2001.

Barry is married and has four daughters. Barry enjoys coaching and in his free time, he serves as the girls' basketball coach at Rocky Mountain High School.

Brenda Stephenson

Office Manager/Loan Processor

Brenda has been in the mortgage lending business since 1997. She has Associate Degrees in both Accounting and Marketing/Management. She believes in the level of knowledge and integrity shown by all employees of NCMC, which is why she likes being a part of the team at NCMC.

Brenda and her husband just had their first child Trent in June of 2004. He is the joy of their lives.

Janet Sahl

Loan Officer

Janet has enjoyed the excitement and challenges of the real estate industry for over 24 years. Her professional experience includes Commercial Real Estate Banking; Property Management; Escrow Officer; Branch Manager for a Title Company; and Commercial, Construction, Rural and Residential Mortgage Lending. Janet believes, “that I and the rest of our team at Northern Colorado Mortgage Company do not believe what we do each day is just a job. It is about building relationships and fulfilling dreams.” She believes in working hard for her clients with the utmost honesty, integrity and professionalism.

Janet is a Colorado native, and she enjoys many activities with her husband and children. Outdoor activities such as camping, rafting, golfing, fishing, hiking and volleyball are at the top of their list.

Dustin Camping

Loan Officer

Prior to Dustin Camping joining Northern Colorado Mortgage Company in 2005, he began his career with North American Title in June of 2001. During college, he was a portfolio manager on the Summit Investment Fund managing the Cisco Systems Fund. Other experience includes working as a marketing assistant for a real estate agent at Coldwell Banker, and selling life and health insurance at Northwestern Mutual Company. After being a marketing consultant for North American for two years, he was promoted to Northern Colorado Sales Manager/Business Development Manager overseeing the sales efforts for Larimer County.

Dustin graduated from Colorado State University with a degree in Finance and Real Estate. He enjoys coaching basketball, playing golf, rode cycling, and skiing. He looks forward to starting a family in the near future with his wife Heather.
